Brand new week means spanking new reads.

Hot of the Press is a weekly meme where I showcase books that I’m planning to read that due to be published this week. Plus, if I’m fortunate enough to have read the book and already reviewed them courtesy of the advance copies I received; I will also highlight them here. Just in case you need a little help deciding if you want to read it and want prior opinion about it. You are very much welcome to read at my weird reviews. :P

Planning to Read: January 19 – 25

  • Evertrue (Everneath #3) by Brodi Ashton
  • Waking Up in Vegas by Stevie Kisner

I really like the sound of Waking Up in Vegas. Sounds funny and I really love NA books that are laced with humor. Ah, Evertrue which reminds me, I have yet to read Everbound.

Read & Reviewed:

  • A Little Too Hot (A Little Too Far #3) by Lisa Desrochers – ★ ★ ★ ½
  • *Avalon (Avalon, #1) by Mindee Arnett – ★ ★

[*] Short Reviews

Massive book pile report:

Last week two giant bookstore chains (National Bookstore & Fullybooked) announced that they were going to have huge sale. So you know, I’m very frugal. So I grab opportunity such as this. I missed the NBS warehouse sale last November but I’m glad they held another one so early this year. I bought 14 books (one manga for my sis). And then Fullybooked had one too. Although I made in there quite late and I didn’t like most of the books left. I got a total of 20 new books!!! So here is my 2 weeks work of book stack:

The pile on the left is from the warehouse sale. They’re super cheap so even if I end up not liking them, it was pretty ok with me. They were super cheap. And yes, yes, I have now two copies of Need (finally completed my collection). I went to FB before I went to NBS warehouse so I bought this one. And when I saw Need laying around alone and lonely in the stack of books, I decided to grab it as well. Also have two copies of The Eternal Ones, because multiple copies is a-ok with me! Hah! Out of Sight, Out of Mind (I bought it for my sister), Boundless and wait for it…Into the Still Blue (which was out 2 weeks early). I bought ‘em in full price. But so worth it!

The shelves at home are now overflowing with books. And it’s driving me crazy on how should I arranged them. HAAAAH bookworm problems. :YAY:

I’ve decided to post Bookish Verbosity sporadically. Not in the mood to write discussion one a timely manner. And I can’t force myself to write when my heart’s not in it. I’ll continue it but not on schedule. You know when an idea pops then I’ll write. Forcing myself to write because I’m schedule to do so it’s tough for me. Sometimes the words doesn’t sound so genuine. So I made up my mind to ditch the schedule and do it my way.

How was your week, guys? Any news worthy events? Eyeing new releases too, care to share it with me? :YAY: :D

  1. Haha, the overflowing bookshelves problem.. I know what you mean! I really wish we had stores like that with awesome sales :D Looks like you’ve got yourself some great books there, happy reading!

I supposed it’s every bookworm’s problem, right? Oh I wish they made huge sales there, too. It’s like merry wonderland to be able to get as many books as you want that you can actually pay. :D Thanks Mel!

  2. Pretty Little Reader says:

I’m never lucky enough to find a book on the shelves early! I also never have major bookstores in my area have these kind of sales, which is probably a good thing since I’m finally starting to make a dent in my TBR pile haha.

    • Mitchii G. says:

I was surprised when both of them announced they were having a huge sale. Some of the books I purchased where less than a dollar so totally worth the visit.

There’s a massive dent of my pile right now but it’s still difficult for me not to buy. Major book buying problem. :D
