I saw Annie from Runaway Reader did this meme, and then followed by several bloggers and I think the questions are really interesting. And good excuse to share a bit about myself (which I rarely do since I’m very uncomfortable sharing bits and pieces of my personal life.) But here ya go!

about me!

[*] denotes – pics above!

* How tall are you?

5’2” or roughly 158cm (and to those who watched/read Haikyuu!, Nishinoya is taller than me *collapse on the floor and weeps*)

Do you have a hidden talent and if so, what?

Talent? Hmmm, let’s see, I think my drawing is decent. I won a poster making contest back in elementary. I think my singing is ok too; not the pretty one but I can sing and can easily memorize melody. Talent…? This is very hard question. :P

What is your biggest blog-related pet peeve?

It’s a blog design related one but I don’t like big headers. I mean blog is content oriented so for me it takes away my attention to the post. I think it works on websites, I just don’t fancy them on blogs. But hey, it’s your blog, whatever floats your boat.

What is your biggest non-blog-related pet peeve?

Anything rude is a huge turn-off (seriously I couldn’t think of anything!)

What’s your favorite song?

「らしさ」by SUPER BEAVER. I like this song because it promotes a simple message of being yourself; sometimes we forget to do because of the pressure that our society putting in our shoulders. So much love for this song.

What’s your favorite Etsy shop?

I don’t frequent etsy, so none yet.

What’s your favorite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?

Aside from the obvious: reading. I love watching, recently anime, I have so many shows I’m following right now and they are really, really awesome. I love to draw as well or at least try to (my sister mocks me though). I love listening to music and of course web designing. I love tinkering my sites and try to learn more about front end part of a site.

What’s your favorite junk food?

I’m not into junk food, but I really like this local salt and vinegar chips. And this instant yakisoba noodles and I pair it with hard-boiled egg. That’s pretty much it!

* Do you have a pet or pets?

I used to have to have a Labrador and her name is Nina (that’s her photo above). She’s the sweetest dog ever. She loved playing hide and seek (and shrieked every time she found me). People are afraid of her because she was so huge but she was very kind and very sweet. Sadly, she got sick. If ever, I want to have a Labrador again. But seeing we’re living in a small apartment it’s impossible. But I’m persuading my mother to get a cat (unfortunately I haven’t succeeded).

* What are your number one favorite non-fiction and fiction books?

I don’t like non-fiction, my attention span for this is 5 minutes and I give up. But right now, I’m spending my time reading these Japanese course booklets my sister owned because I’m trying to learn Japanese again.

* What’s your favorite beauty product?

Not big on make-up. A good concealer is enough for me. But I do like Maybeline’s products.

When were you last embarrassed and what happened?

Oh, that’s my perpetual state, so every day.

If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Iced tea all the way!

What’s your favorite movie?

Not big on movies as well, but I do like ‘A Walk to Remember.’ Maybe it.

What were you in high school: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist prep etc?

That kind of stereotype didn’t fit on my high school life. But to put it simple, I’m neither popular but I’m not invisible either. In my high school (and I think most schools here). We our ranked by our GPA and luckily I was always part of the first section. We were trained since freshman to be active in extracurricular activities. When I was in senior year, I joined clubs and even an officer so you can say I’m pretty busy and got to interact with other students.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Japan! Like seriously, it’s been my lifelong dream to go there. And maybe Australia, since I’ve already been there and my sister lives there. :)

PC or Mac?

PC: it’s user friendly and I’ve been using it for years so I know plenty of the shortcuts. I once used MAC and drove me nuts! So I love my PC!

Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boyfriend/girlfriend?

hmmm…

Favorite celeb?

I’m not really into celebrities, maybe Jlaw?

Which blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?

I’m so happy to meet lots of awesome bloggers across the blogosphere! Anyone who I haven’t talked yet: so that means Y’ALL!!!

  1. Annie says:

Mmm salt and vinegar chips are SO GOOD. And Nina was so adorable! Dogs are hard to have when you live in small space, that’s part of why I don’t have one. Cats are so cute but my mum and dad aren’t as keen on them as they are dogs. Hopefully you’ll be luckier! And yum iced tea! Also A Walk to Remember was really good. The book was good too. So sad!

  2. Sydney says:

Salt & vinegar chips are my favorite! I could eat 5 bags of them and then eat even more. It’s really sad, actually.

I love dogs. c: I don’t understand people who don’t — they’re such loving animals and they’re always so happy to see you!

I’m not a big Nicholas Sparks fan (A Walk to Remember is Nicholas Sparks, right?). I’m not sure why but his stories never…click with me. I’ve tried but they just don’t. :(

Also, I wish I knew Japanese. It seems like such a hard language and scares me a bit.

    • Mitchii G. says:

That’s too much, Sydney! >.< I can only consume like one medium bag, not into chips but this one is my fave! This is only Spark novel that I liked, I tried others but didn't like it (same goes w/ their movies). It's a intimidating language but I'm eager to learn. :D

  3. Emily says:

Hey Mitchii!! We’re around the same height! Cool beans :P Okay you ARE a bit taller than me, by 1 cm?! :D I totally think sea salt and vinegar chips are the best, coupled with a good movie! But okay I find it SUPER cool that your favourite song is a Japanese one! Not a surprise though, knowing you ;) And then your dog! She sounds like the absolute sweetest :D I love labradors! I had a dog of my own, his name was Toby, I had him since I was 5! He passed away a month ago though, and yeah… it was really tough. But anyway! I do hope you can convince your parents to let you have a cat! But I have to say I love me Mac so I disagree with you there >:) Ha! But that’s okay :P I would also love to live in Australia! Or England :) my stepfather is British so we frequently go to England and I just LOVE it there. The people are lovely and I love it especially when it’s summer! Winter can get a bit chilly though :( I’m thinking of studying there when I get older, to go to university! :D
Heh! Lovely post Mitchii! So glad to get to know you more, big sis! ;) <3

    • Mitchii G. says:

It makes me sad that we are the same height when I’m more than a decade older than you. *cries* I’m really into jpop/jrock again, I love Japanese language.

Your dad is British? wow. Oh that would be cool to study there for college. Good luck, sis!

  4. Megan says:

Oh my gosh, Mitchii, I’m the same height as you. I AM SHORTER THAN NISHINOYA TOO. I mean, he’s already considered the shortest volleyball player, and to see that I’m shorter than him… D: And then I did some research and found out that I’m shorter than Levi, too. He’s 160cm, I think.

I have the same pet peeve, too. I hate it when headers take up the entire page. Width is okay, but the height has to stay short, man. I just hope my header isn’t considered big to anyone, ahhh! ><

And I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. :( She looks so adorable in that picture, though! I have two dogs, too, and they're both pretty old, so my family thinks it's only a matter of time before they leave us. I don't know what I'd do when that happens, honestly. But anyway, I wish you luck with convincing your mom to let you get another Labrador or cat. Cats are awesome but selfish, and a little less difficult to take care of, imo. :P

Jennifer Lawrence is QUEEN. That is all.

    • Mitchii G. says:

Hey, you’re a teen, I’m full pledge adult so you can still have chances for that growth spurt…I on the other hand. T.T

If I can’t see you content without scrolling, or if I could only see the title, then it’s too big. Not at all.

I really want a dog. Our neighbor has tons of dogs (but to ys dogs). I love big dogs like Labrador. Ever since I was kid we always own a pet, one time we have doberman, and it scared the shitless out of our neighbors, haha.

  5. Shorty :D Haha, just kidding! Not into junk food, that’s a new one! You are the first blogger I see with that answer, good for you. Junk food is so bad (but so delicious too) I’m not such a dog fan, but Nina looks like a cutie on that picture. PC *high five!*

    • Mitchii G. says:

You meanie, Mel! I don’t avoid them, I get sick of the taste quite easily, I’m no health buff or anything (I’m anything but).

Aw, thanks, she was my precious baby. Yes for PC!

  6. I also love watching anime and reading manga when I’m not reading novels! What are your favorites? Mine are probably, maid-sama, dengeki daisy, orange, and of course, metantai conan! :D

btw, can I just say I love the aura of your blog. It’s so clean. :D

    • Mitchii G. says:

I also loved those too, but I kinda dropped Conan because it was taking so long (and I was teenager when I started following it).

      Eeeep! Thanks Lisa. <3

  7. Jackie says:

What Japanese booklets do you have? I held on to all of my Japanese course materials from college, and I’m always on the lookout for other material. I’m never certain what is worth my time or money though. Honestly, I’ve forgotten most of what I learned in college, but I still return to my books from time to time. I pick things back up with ease, and ideally I’d love to be able to read and write fairly fluently. Maybe one day…

    • Mitchii G. says:

It’s from our university since my sister minor in languages and she took Japanese class so I borrowed it.

      I also want that…maybe someday. :D

  8. Lend me your height, Mitchii! xD Oh God I’m so short. 4’10” right here.

Huge headers (especially ones with self-taken photos as a background) usually get on my nerves a bit, too. But I can’t stop anyone from doing what they like, so. :)

I only know a handful of Japanese songs. Mostly anime opening and closing songs. ;D

    Iced tea! Whoo!

Yes! I would totally love to visit Japan! Not sure if I’d want to live there, but I totally want to take a week- or month-long vacation there. ANIME STREET, I WILL COME FOR YOU.

Awesome answers, Mitchii. It was nice getting to know you. ;)

    • Mitchii G. says:

I don’t know why but that makes me happy that I’m taller than you (then you’re still teen, growth spurt could happen!)

If the photo was classy, why not, but it isn’t and it’s really huge it does made me cringe. But that’s their blog, who are us to stop them? *winks*

Akihabara! Me wants to go there! XD Thanks, Aimee!

  9. I would love to see a drawing of yours, Mitchii! I imagine they would be lovely ^.^

I don’t like huge headers, either. I always think that I should be able to see the excerpt or beginning of at least one post without scrolling down, otherwise the header is probably way too big.

    Rude people are horrid D:

I used to hate salt and vinegar chips as a kid because they are so sour. I’d always pull a face XD But now I like them a lot more!

I’m so sorry about Nina :( She looks and sounds like she was a beautiful dog <3

A Walk to Remember is such a good movie, right? I feel like watching it again now.

    Australia! *waves* :D

    • Mitchii G. says:

Eeeeee?!! Chiara my drawings looks too average and I’m intimidated when I saw pretty ones (self-esteem issues). But one of these days!

Rudeness will not get them anywhere!

I love Australia but your weather is weird. Like one day extremely cold, the others nice and sunny. What’s up with that?! LOL

  10. Ariella says:

Hi, I’m Ariella and I just started following your blog! I think I’ve always followed you on twitter but never got around to looking through your blog for some reason.. Good thing I’m following you now haha. It’s nice to get to know you, Mitchii! I’m only a little bit taller by Nishinoya.. only by 2 cm but it still counts! I really like reading and watching anime as well, like you. What’s your all-time favourite anime? I also really want to learn Japanese but I don’t know how I’ll do except maybe enroll in a course when I go to college. Nice to meet you, Mitchii :D

    • Mitchii G. says:

Hi Ariella! Oh yeah, I knew you from twitter! I will follow your blog too, an otaku + bibliophile is a must follow person for me. At least you’re taller, haha, I’m an old short lady. T.T All time favorite? Gosh that’s always been a hard question for me. I think my all time faves are: D Gray Man, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Gintama, Death Note and recently Tokyo Ghoul (and the sequel, TG:re) and Haikyuu!

EEEEP! It so hard to learn it all by yourself, I can read the kana but I still can’t understand, I have long, long way to go. And yes, please enroll, I think it’s better that way!

      Yoroshiku ne! <3
