I was nominated by Sophia from Ravens and Writing Desks and Shanelle of The Art of Escapism. Thanks girls! I decided to answer them in one post. I never heard of Liebster Award before but the concept reminds me of the memes I used to participate in livejournal. But first, here are the deets:

liebsterTHE RULES:

  1. Thank the blogger that nominated you and link back to their blog.
  2. Display the award somewhere on your blog.
  3. List 11 facts about yourself.
  4. Answer 11 questions chosen by the blogger who nominated you.
  5. Come up with 11 new questions to ask your nominees.
  6. Nominate 5-11 blogs that you think deserve the award and who have less than 1,000 followers. You may nominate blogs that have already received the award, but you cannot renominate the blog that nominated you.
  7. Go to their blog and inform them that they’ve been nominated.

I already shared my top 11 things you should know about me in my livejournal before and because I’m too lazy to think again, I’m just going to paste it here (with some minor alterations, LOL).

  1. I’m nearsighted.
  2. Even though I’m nearsighted, I sometimes refused to wear eyeglasses (which is really bad).
  3. All my siblings are left handed except for me. I’m the only rightie (both parents are right handed).
  4. I have acrophobia.
  5. I can imitate few accents.
  6. I love potatoes; mashed, fried…however you cook it. Just not raw. ;)
  7. I’m only 5’2″ and petite. So people mistake my age (like every damn time).
  8. I have a thing for pigs. The fluffy stuff toy pigs not the real ones. They’re cute. <3
  9. I tend to write in all caps. I also write neatly which makes me very meticulous with someone’s handwriting.
  10. I love tea. Iced, hot, flavored, you name it. I’ll drink it.
  11. My favorite color is gray and pink!

[expand title=”Questions from Sophia (from Ravens and Writing Desks)”]

If you could meet any author – dead or alive – for dinner, who would it be, and why?

→ Amano Akira. She’s the author of my all-time favorite manga series, 家庭教師ヒットマンREBORN! (Katekyō Hitman Reborn!). I choose a mangaka instead of novel authors because of the possibility of it happening is pretty slim. For dead authors, well I’m not into classic, so yeah I’m not eager to invite them to dinner (aside from it’ll creep me out). :P

What is your most prized possession?

→ Material things? I don’t have golds so maybe my books. *shrugs*

How many books do you read at once (on average)? If you read more than one – do you have a special way of managing it?

→ I can’t read more than one book at once. I tend to finish the book before starting another one. But I can finish 2 books a day. My tip? Don’t start reading if you’re about to do something else (or if you don’t have enough time to read). The more focus you are on what you’re reading the easier to understand the story and faster you’ll finish it.

What is your least favorite book and why?

Divergent by Veronica Roth. Illogical concept, The Hunger Games knockoff, unnecessarily violent, Tris was suicidal (that’s not bravery!), the list goes on.

What book(s) are you reading right now? How do you like it (them) so far?

→ I’m not reading anything right now (as in this moment). But I just finished Star-Crossed by Luna Lacour which left me conflicted. And I’m thinking of starting What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick.

What is your least favorite literary cliche?

If your house was about to burn down in a fire, which five books would you grab immediately (assuming you had time to do so)?

→ Five books? No! No! More like five boxes.

If you could take a vacation in any fictional world, where would you go?

→ Namimori, Japan.

If you could have one fictional character as your best friend, who would it be?

→ Kenji Kishimoto from Shatter Me.

What book completely changed your life?

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. If it weren’t for her books I wouldn’t be reading.

Do you prefer writing with a pen or a pencil? Why?

→ Pencil. It’s easier to correct things.

[expand title=”Questions from Shanelle(from The Art of Escapism)”]

What’s the type of heroine that you hate?

→ I don’t know, it depends.

What’s the type of hero that you hate?

→ Once again, I don’t know. It really depends—on many things.

What do you think is the next big thing for YA?

→ Oh gosh, I don’t know again, let me consult my crystal ball.

Who would be your dream cast for one of your favorite books?

→ I don’t do fan-casting but if ever, I want the actor for Warner to be incredibly handsome (by my standards) but the prospect terrifies me so I’d rather let him stay in my imagination.

Name one of your bookish OTPs.

→ Really guys by this time you should already know. What? You still don’t know? The whole PROJECT SIXTY-TWO wasn’t obvious enough? Ok, for those who don’t know: Warner and Juliette from Shatter Me Trilogy.

Coffee, tea, milk, water, or whatever. What’s your favorite drink?

→ Tea! And Water, of course.

Favorite flavor of ice cream?

→ Double Dutch

Favorite bookstore?

National Bookstore (bcos they’re cheaper) but I do love Fullybooked too.

Where’s your dream destination?

→ JAPAN!!!

What do you hate about where you live?

→ Pollution, disorganization, corruption…

Best social media to fangirl?

→ Twitter. All you need is 140 characters or less to fangirl and that’s  enough.

  1. What’s your biggest book blogging accomplishment so far?

  5. Who (book bloggers, authors anyone from the book community) do you look up to and why?
  6. Do you see yourself blogging for more than five years?
  7. Do you prefer print books to ebooks? Why?

10 Responses to Special: Liebster Award (x2)!

  1. Yay for near-sightedness, haha. I mean what – I actually hate being nearsighted. I want to read what that thing says like five metres away? OH NO. That’s just a blur. Sigh. Sometimes, I’ll ditch my glasses, too, but only for little things like reading menus, or jumping on the computer to quickly check something. Whenever I don’t wear my glasses, it’s like I can feel my eyes deteriorating more and more, haha.
I really didn’t have any idea if I was afraid of heights, but then I went up to the top floor of a 322m high building, and I wasn’t all that scared. But if that was a cliff or something and I knew one step would lead me to my death, then I’d definitely be scared out of my mind.
People always thing I am years younger than I am, as well. I turn 21 in two months and someone asked me if I was 18 the other day! Just UGH. I hope this means I’ll look young when I am old, haha XD
Fluffy pigs are cute. So are baby pigs :D
Writing in all caps sounds nice! Sometimes, I am really conscious of how my handwriting looks, and I’ll put heaps of effort into making it look all pretty but 99% of the time, I just cant be bothered, and then it looks all squiggly and hard to read, haha.
Grey and pink are pretty colours! :D
And congrats on the awards, Mitchii! ^.^

    • Mitchii G. says:

LOL, everything’s a blur, after a few meters. It kinda does, I think I’m going to get a good scolding by the ophthalmologist by not wearing my eye glasses. It was prescribed to help me correct my eyesight (or so she says).

There are instances that I liked that people assumed I’m younger than my age, but moments that I need proof that I’m old enough kinda suck the whole baby face thing.

I really want my notes clean. I started writing in all caps bcos my Journalism teacher ask me to write articles in all caps so she can easily understand them (my long hand is hard to read for her). Out of habit I guess.

      Aw, thanks Chiara!

  2. Shannelle C. says:

Why do you not wear glasses? *gasp* I want to do that too, because I’m vain like that. LOL I would wear contacts, but ugh, no, I’m not sticking a piece of glass into my eye. I just want to gain my normal eyesight from before back.

I look older, because I’m tall, and the glasses make me look serious. I also hate dressing up like most people my age do these days, so people usually assume I’m in college. It actually makes me want to wear something lurid for once.

Anyway, I’m glad you did it! :D

    • Mitchii G. says:

Bcos I’m stubborn, LOL. I want to gain my normal eyesight back, too. It started when I was in college, I was always typing, doing reports so I was always in front of the computer. It deteriorate more when I started working. I used to have a 20/20 vision. Good ‘ol days.

Haha, sometimes I think it’s a compliment but when you’re already on your mid-twenties and people still asking for your parents, it becomes embarrassing.

    • Shannelle C. says:

I want to regain my normal eyesight back too. My eyesight went bad before I even had electronics, and after getting glasses, it just went downhill from there. :P

    • Mitchii G. says:

Yeah, those things are to blame. If I have the money I want a lasik, though the idea somehow scares me. :P

  3. Alice says:

Thanks for the nomination! I couldn’t even think of 11 facts when I did mine before, now I’ve read yours I can think of loads (I’m near sighted too). Although, if I refused to wear mine I’d probably walk into things.

    • Mitchii G. says:

I have already made this long ago and I’m too lazy to think of another set so I carried this one over here. Haha, I know but even for that fact I still refused to wear it. I’m quite stubborn. Can’t wait to see your answers!

  4. Elizabeth says:

Aww thanks for nominating me!! …I’ve been nominated by like 4 people now I need to stop procrastinating about making up a post hahah!

Namimori, Japan is oddly specific. Is there a reason why? And I’m with you, I read much better when I just read a book in one sitting and then start another book rather than juggling books (although since I’ve started blogging, I HAVE juggled books…something I never thought I’d do!

    • Mitchii G. says:

It’s actually interesting to read people’s answers since the questions personal in nature. And I love knowing the bloggers more.

It’s fictional place in a manga series I loved. And since I want to go to Japan might as well be there as well, haha. I do juggle books sometimes but it never work. It affects my mood and my comprehension so as much as possible I stick to one book at a time. :D
