In which Mitchii rambles briefly on what has rolled down this May! Blog, life & whatnots!
may-wrap-up

It’s pretty much weird month for me. Some days were better than the others sort of month. When May officially rolled in there were lots of things just happened. The first week was the busiest, I even got home completely sucked out of energy. sleepy Of course there were laid back moments and great moments as well, so I was still pretty happy with how May went, still. Although I pray that June will be more awesome (not sickly because I have plans scheduled!). Still feel blessed overall. Thank God for this month! kiss

Blog Headliners:

may-nutshell

So what happened this month in ze blog? Well few things and I’m glad that I’m getting the hang of the schedule thing which I unabashedly shared my adventures about it to y’all. I managed to stick to my post pattern. Just in case you’re curious how it works, the post sched goes like this: What’s on My Reading List? > Otaku Features/Recs > Blogger Session > Bookish/Otaku/Specials Post > Recap. Get it? But when to post seems a little unsteady on my part. Sometimes I’m too worn out or busy or embarrassingly lazy. But hey, April & May went well…let’s see if I can stick my guns into it firmly! hi-2--emoticon

Aside from my attempts on being a decent, organized blogger I also wrote a feature about manga set in Asia! As I historical & geographical enthusiast as myself, I love reading them so I decided to share to everyone who might be interested! And another somewhat related post, I admitted my love of being a multilingual reader. And I’m quite amazed that you guys know languages under your belts! God job everyone~ One thing I also found out that you guys also worry on lending books like me. It’s appeasing to know I’m not the only one.

Also, I read and read and read some more. I’m warning you right now that June What’s on My Reading List? is explosive…I might’ve carried away with my TBR (I read, like LOTS!!!) bashful

Other fandoms, passion, RL & whatnots:

  • I don’t like sharing personal information on my blog there was sad family matter happened. Not gonna get into details but yeah, it was a very sudden thing.
  • Aside from all the new manga I read last month, I did some rereading too. Like I reread Kono Oto Tomare, Akuma to Love Song, Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu, etc. And I’m planning to reread some older series I finished some eons ago; one of them will probably be Fruits Basket (because Chiara convinced me & feels like forever since I read it from the very beginning!)

I look forward to—!

  • I want to learn tumblr theme. I mean I kinda understand the barebones but I want to explore the complicated stuff… I’m whipping something up you see (and for now it’s a secret).
  • I have out of the country travel plan next month! And no it’s still not in Japan (yet—hopefully by last quarter of the year and with sisters tagging along there’s some minor tweaks on my plan). But I’m praying for safe/good experience/adventures with this one. Last trip was awesome!
  • Then there is the sequel of Card Captor Sakura! Ah so many memories are storming me every time CCS is mentioned. I was in my early teens (like 13, 14 years old?) when I fangirled & shipped hard for Syaoran & Sakura! So this is something I absolutely look forward to!!! Ah self, you never changed.
  • I’m really anxious with the result of the elections here. I don’t know what to think of the upcoming administration. *sighs* eh

May… has been a pretty hectic month for me. Finals and college entrance test…. But at least not I’m officially graduated from higschool!! XD I plan to learn html code in June… I really want to be able to create my own theme (I know it’s a long way to go but hey why not? :)) I hope you’ll have an amazing trip and an amazing June in general! :D

    • Mitchii G. says:

Congrats on graduating! All those busy days & hard word are now paid off. Oh! You must try creating your theme, I find it fulfilling to whip up something that’s totally me, made by me! Thank you & you too have a wonderful June ahead~ <333

  2. Chri says:

Kono Oto Tomare is my favorite thing ever :D and FRUITS BASKET! That’s so nostalgic. I think Fruits Basket was my first manga ever – that or Kitchen Princess.

Good luck with figuring out tumblr themes! I’m sure you’ll be able to catch on quickly; I’m so excited to see what you’re coming up with^^

    • Mitchii G. says:

I love Kono Oto Tomare! and I want an anime for it to come out soon (please green lit this series, like please!!!)

I find tumblr easier than blogger, once I saw the code I was like, nope. And I actually like tumblr and use it so I’m motivated to try! <3 Thank you!

    1. -hugs- I hope everything is ok, and if it isn’t, then -extra hugs-
    2. Kyou koi etc. was so cute! And Fruits Basket is one of those things I reread frequently (like watchin OHSHC too). And in gearing up for a big Skip Beat! Reread soon! I’m so nervous bc I haven’t read any of the chapters in the past year or so…Ahhhhh! And it’s either done it almost done by now so ahhhx1000! Speaking of manga have you read Oboreru Knife? It’s slice of life and it has probably my favourite artwork ever…like maybe even more than xxxHolic which is really saying something for me.
    3. Oooh international travel! So exciting!!
    4. I work with some Filipinas and neither of them are very happy about the political options either :-/. But then here I am in a country where Donald Trump has a 50% chance of being President so I understand your feelings haha!

    • Mitchii G. says:

Thank you for the hugs! *hugs back* It was quite a shock, even if we weren’t close I still felt terribly bad of what has happened.

I haven’t read Fruits Basket like from the very beginning. And when Chiara mentioned it, I decided to perhaps reread it, too. I always re-read Skip Beat though! And I’m surprised that you haven’t read the latest chapters (like girl you must!). Stuff about Kyoko’s mother & her new drama (so interesting!) Please catch up & fangirl with me!

It is! Looking forward to it! <3

I thought this whole Donald Trump running for president was a joke (like Kanye West thing—not sure if this was joke too or real). Then I saw it on CNN and I was like for real??!! I was actually surprised that he is qualified to run. I don’t mind unconventional personalities, but our new president is very…different?

Hi! I really just wanted to say that it’s blogs like yours that really inspire me and keep me blogging when I’m going through a rough patch. The content is great, the blog is absolutely beautiful, and you seem like such a lovely person! I’m also really happy to find someone that finally understands my love for anime/manga haha!

I hope you have a great time on your adventure out of the country, and that you get to travel to Japan soon. I visited last year and it’s absolutely stunning. Everything is pretty much just adorable it’s literally like living in a shoujo manga (and I’m not even kidding). One day I hope to return (maybe even live there) because it really is a gorgeous country and I had an absolute blast!

    • Mitchii G. says:

That’s one of the sweetest messages I’ve ever received. I really, really appreciate it. I just do what I love doing & it humbles me to know that I inspired amazing people like you. And I’m glad to know you love anime & manga! That’s one (of hopefully more) aspects we can fangirl together! <3

I hope to visit Japan this year. I’ll probably jump for joy the moment I step into their soil. I think anything in Japan will be amazing experience for me. I always see it on TV and manga so to actually live through even for a moment will be unforgettable! I think once is never enough, so I hope you’ll get to visit it again soon!

  5. Alexandra says:

    Hey Mitchii! Sorry I’m late.
I hope everything is okay in your family now.
Tumblr was the main reason why I wanted to learn coding, because I wanted to make a theme and the themes on tumblr were good but I felt like there was something missing. Alas, school is taking over my life (with the subjects being so tough now, I’m like, what did I even learn in the past 2 years of high school? The last four years are quite connected so yeah). I saw a Blogger theme’s code recently and I’m like, what is this? It didn’t make sense!
Also, have a happy and safe journey! I can’t wait to know when you’re going to Japan!
May was such a productive month for you! I just scheduled some reviews and went meh after that. The only productive thing I’ve done now is change my theme and my blog’s name (⌒_⌒;)

    • Mitchii G. says:

Haha, as a adult I have completely forgot the things I learned from school. But hang tight, but don’t push yourself too hard! A break is not bad sometimes. ^^ Blogger’s code is like dump site! Everything’s there. I don’t like it because WordPress structure is so clear and organized! But tumblr seems so fun to work with it! Every time I see tumblr themes I want to do something like it! Plus so many pretty themes! I want to make one! <333

Japan is such a dream; I really pray that it’ll push through! <3 For now, I’ll enjoy this little side trip. :3 Thanks! New theme + name! I may need to see~ xD

  6. Alexandra says:

Urgh, I keep forgetting to mention this but I love the new header! I usually visit your blog on my phone so I don’t see the header and after a loooong time, I’m going blog hopping on my laptop instead.
