I love emojis (I even have two sets of emojis installed in this blog as a proof). I frequently abuse it and most of the time my tweets end with emojis. So this was fun to do (and I might’ve presented it differently :P ) . I was tagged by the lovely Emily of Reverie Rhapsody. This meme goes like this:

Use 5-10 emojis that you abuse frequently/are your favorites and pick a book or character that matches that emoji.

Just Silly!

Just Silly! emoji belongs to Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, particularly the third book, The Titan’s Curse. This is my favorite book from the series, it’s so funny. Apollo sad attempt haikus and Blackjack infamous line ‘it’s the wine dude.’ Man, did it crack me up pretty good.

Snorefest

Oh my, I tried reading City Of Bones in what, 2010? Hundred pages in, I stopped. Hopeful, I picked up again (after 2 years). It didn’t work. It’s too many things at once then you include a very unbearable cast. Nope, I’m not up for this grueling task. My patience threshold was almost at a critical level. So yes, snorefest emoji goes to you, you never ending story (how many books are they planning for this world?!! I’m not even reading it and I feel exhausted already).

Chuuu!!! (Kissy Face!)

Trust in Me:  just because it has kissy face /nuff said.

Total Indifference

Total Indifference emoji goes to Sleep No More. I was really intrigued with this book having such an interesting concept. Sadly, things were just too muddled and predictable to suit my taste.

Heartbreaker!

Christian Prescott *she remembers* *sobs* I was utterly sad when I finished the book despite knowing the ending prior to reading. I would’ve been ok if the story was obviously moving in that direction. But it was surprised attack and I was caught unguarded. I still feel remorse after that halfhearted ending. Yes, the heartbreaker emoji belongs to Boundless.

Lovely Dovey!

Do I really need to explain in full deets considering I had prepared a 9 weeks (62 days) feature for the released of the book? No? You should already know how much I loved Tahereh Mafi’s series by now so of course, the lovey-dovey emoji belongs to this series. (and I might have recycled a photo *snickers*)

*****

I don’t know which ones are already tagged (mental lapses = must be the age *face palm*). So I’m tagging these awesome fellas because they’re the ones I remember:

  1. Such an entertaining post, Mitchii! I absolutely agree to your silly emoji & book choice!! All PJO books are funny, and Apollo’s haikus just made the series funnier. You wouldn’t believe that he’s a god HAHAHA Woah at the heartbreaker choice! I am intrigued of this series and what happened in that book that made it heartbreaking!!

PS: When I was just at the top of this post, I thought of “I am sure there’s a taheref book in here” and I was right! *dances*

    • Mitchii G. says:

Haha, of course there’s going to be Mafi book there. I love her debut series, what can I say. :P

Rick Riordan is one of those authors that can sustain a long running series without making readers getting bored. It’s apparent that he loves the concept. xD

  2. Eeep, Mitchii, you’re so creative and I want your skillz. *grabby hands* Love what you did with this! I’ve only read one of the books on your list, Percy Jackson, and I agree, the entire series is hilarious in general. Percy’s such an adorable person and asdjkfl;asdiwe I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

Noooo, so disappointed that you didn’t like City of Bones! I have almost the entire series on my shelf even though I haven’t read a single book yet (don’t ask me why I bought them all, because I don’t know and I’m regretting that decision), so now I’m feeling really apprehensive about starting it.

And haha, I know how much you love Ignite Me. :D I read Shatter Me and didn’t like it all that much, but hopefully the series gets better? I really want to own all those pretty covers, though!

Now I’m wondering if I should even bother with Sleep No More because I have an ARC on my Kindle and it sounds really interesting, but I don’t want to go through anymore three-star reads. :(

Anyways, thanks for sharing! Love love love your post and all your pictures! <3

    • Mitchii G. says:

What are you talking, you’re also oozing with talent (and you changed your theme, I wish I’m fast worker like your are.)

I hate the TMI series, I even tried the ID but tough luck didn’t happen.

  3. Emily says:

YAY!! Heehee, this is SO cute! ^^ And yeah, OMG Meg is right your photography skills are just asdfghjkl!! LOVE IT <3
I agree with you that City Of Bones was just the ultimate snorefest… I mean at first I was excited and breezing through, and then I just got… bored. I was so bored! In the end, it was just like meh… And then I put it aside. I finished it in the end, but it's just not that impressive to me :(
Boundless was just THE heartbreaker wasn't it?! I couldn't touch any book for weeks after reading that because I was absolutely heartbroken with how the Christian situation was handled D: Bury me in a hole and don't let me out D: Like you, I still feel so so sad about that whole series :(
And Ignite Me, wasn't that the shizz?! I betcha that yes that was the ultimate lovey dovey book for the week ;D And I expected that this would be your pick, MUAHAHA!
Thanks for tagging along Mitchii ;D And yes, I know my big sis loves all these emojis <3 We must do more of this yeah? ;) *hugs*

    • Mitchii G. says:

EEEEH?!! >///< I'm trying to post personal photos here, giving my blog a more personal touch. I'm so happy that you appreciate it. I'm so bored with it despite there's a lot of characters. All of them just too boring for me, concept was very disorganized. Christian!!!! Let's do some sob-fest little sis. I still can't get over it, after all this time. Ignite Me is <3 ETA: I hit enter too quickly BUT thanks for tagging me. It’s perfect meme for me. (me loves emojis) xD

  4. OMG! YES! I am so happy to find a fellow Emoji fan – haha! ;) xD This is such a cute tag, and I completely agree with each of the books you’ve chosen and the emojis you paired them up with. :)

Frankly, every single Rick Riordan book is a laugh-fest, so I completely agree with you choosing to put PJ on here! ;)

And City of Bones! *moans* That book was…yep. Total snoozefest. I’m impressed you were able to get even 100 pages in to be completely honest!

And I completely loved Ignite Me as well! Such a perfect end to a perfect series. <3 Glad you loved it too!

Thanks for sharing Mitchii, and WONDERFUL post! <3

    • Mitchii G. says:

Yay, thanks Zoe! Riordan has ginormous talent, his amazingness is oozing in his books. It’s always entertaining to read his books.

I considered it an accomplishment to even make it page 100. :P And yay! Super loved Ignite Me!! <3

  5. Huhuhu, I so know what you mean by Boundless. That book destroyed my OTP for that book. I hated the “cop-out” (kinda?) thing that happened to Tucker. Oh, well, papel as we Pinoys say. Haha. In my heart I know it’s Christian XD I haven’t really read the others here so I can’t really remark much, but I did try City of Bones. After 10 pages, I gave it up. Hahaha.

    • Mitchii G. says:

It was indeed a cop-out. I’m still sour-graping here LOL. I hope you’ll try Percy Jackson series, it’s very fun one, Faye. :D

  6. Kezia D says:

MITCHII!!!!! I see that you’ve changed your commenting system into commentluv >< Ugh I feel so bad for not visiting more often u_u I have been so lazy to do blogging stuff including leaving comments D; And I haven't written a post for ages. Thanks for tagging me! I might do it next weekend.

Ah, I'm sorry to hear that you disliked City of Bones. I didn't like the series much except for City of Glass. I never continue the series though. The writing is incredibly descriptive so I can see why you felt bored — and I hated most of the characters too! BUT I gave TID a chance and in my opinion it's MUCH better than TMI.

However, I agree that the Shadowhunter Chronicles is ENDLESS…If I'm not mistaken, there are additional two serieses planned to be published sometime in the future. I guess there will still be Shadowhunter books when I'm 30 lol.

I also read Pike's other book called Wings and I wasn't impressed so I won't be reading her other books since they don't seem to receive much love from my friends and trusted reviewers…

I COMPLETELY AGREE ABOUT THE TITAN'S CURSE. Rick Riordan is hilarious but I must say that installment is definitely the funniest. I used to re-read that book whenever I felt bored or down and it always managed to boost my mood. There's also a very touching scene near the end (about Zoe) and it's really heartwarming.

    I hope you're having a good day, Mitchii!! :D

    • Mitchii G. says:

I did, I want my comment system matches my theme. :3

Really disliked it, I also try ID but I didn’t finish it as well. I guess I’m not a fan of Clare’s writing. Same goes with Pike’s, her books are always a missed for me.

Titan Curse is my favorite, the rest are awesome too but this one one notch above them (me thinks).

  7. Annie says:

Ooh emojis! I love emojis. They’re so adorable! But I have an Android so I don’t have an emoji keyboard installed in my phone which makes me so sad because they make daily conversation so much more fun!

    Anyway.

I definitely love the emoji you paired with The Titan’s Curse. Those books were definitely quite silly, but in a good way. Not the “so silly, this is really dumb” way but in that really funny way. It’s been a while since I’ve read the books and I have BAD book amnesia but I still remember 100% how much I giggled reading them!

And thank you so much for tagging me! I’m definitely looking forward to doing this because I LOVE EMOJIS. Really lovely post Mitchii and I agree with Meg, your pictures are lovely. As always! :))

    • Mitchii G. says:

I’m an android user and still uses the emojis even though I can really see it. xD

Far from dumb, it’s smart funny but the silliness refers to how enjoyable it is. I’m glad you’ll try it out Annie! :D

  8. Elizabeth says:

Ahahah this was cute! I’m not confident in my abilities to do emoji thingies (god I am so computer illiterate sometimes), but this looks like fun! I should (hopefully) be getting loads of free time soon, so hopefully I’ll have a post up with this soonish :)

  9. Love the photos and your answers, girl! <3 Thanks so much for tagging me! I hope you don't mind if I post mine in a similar way (with the emojis on the photos)? :)

YESSSS PERCY JACKSON! Apollo's one of my favorite gods. We're studying Greek history right now in school, and I have a friend who would put Apollo's name in all caps when she writes down her notes. xD

Okay, so I read City of Bones a few years ago and I enjoyed it, but books #4 and #5 were such drags! I'm still not sure if I want to pick up the last book. ._.

Hahaha! I haven't read those books by JLA, but I love your reason for choosing the book. xD

I have only read Unearthly… TEAM TUCKER, OKAY? But I don't think I'll be continuing this series since I was just so-so with book one. :(

LOL to Ignite Me! STILL on team Adam. xD (Don't kill me!)

Thanks again for tagging me! Love your picks. And your new blog design is fabulous! (As always.)

    • Mitchii G. says:

Why choose Adam & Tucker (I’m looking at you intently!)

      /kidding

The whole TMI is milking the cow dry. I don’t like it from the very beginning so I’m surprised how it managed to stretch the series to six books (ok maybe that’s just my opinion).

Yes, I highly encouraged it. I just made it this way just to change the format a bit. Go and have fun. xD

  10. I tried to read City of Bones last summer but I couldn’t do it. I’ll probably give it another try someday because everyone loves the series, but it’s very low on my TBR list :p I am waiting for Ignite Me to come out in the US paperback (DECEMBER 2014!!!) but the day I get it will be the day I finish it! I love the emojis you used — so cute :)
