This is monthly wrap-up just in case you’re confused with the title.

What went down in September? Book reading wise? Absolutely nothing! But I managed to write two posts which by now becoming an accomplishment (people, do not follow my lead, this is procrastinating—magnificently, if I say so myself.) Oh well, I’ll try to assertively get myself out of the gutter I called book reading slump. I just need to focus and not to get sidetrack…again.

This is what happened:

sept-1

It’s a sad, sad state. Oh well, it was my fault why I have this result.

ARC Acquisition:

I received this beautiful package from Harper Collins International. Thank you so much!!! And maybe, just maybe the drive I need to start reading again.

sept-2
The Fall by Bethany Griffin, Exquisite Captive by Heather Demetrios, The Perilous Sea by Sherry Thomas & Strange and Ever After by Susan Dennard

Other fandoms, passion & whatnots:

The anime series I’m watching just ended and I’m so happy how amazing the shows were. Lots had easily become favorites of mine. I’m still can’t believe that my newest favorite series, Tokyo Ghoul, had recently finished even though so many questions are still left unanswered. But there’s a small percent of getting a sequel so I’m getting fingers crossed for that!

sept-3
My absolute top favorite Summer anime of 2014: Tokyo Ghoul (Studio Pierrot), Barakamon (Kinema Citrus) and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Dogakobo).

I also recently did an overhaul for my anime blog. I was trying to update it and clean it but it went from simply adding some bits to an overall redesign. I actually like this better. I love monochromatic & simplistic layouts. I’m also designing someone else’s blog but I’m quite secretive when it comes my work so ssshhhhh!!! Also just-peach.com is done, I’m still unsure with some aspects! :X

Question: Do you want an anime/manga rec post here? My other blog is actually a bit informal (well, not this is formal but whatever) and I think my other blog caters to those who read/watch it.  The post would be like I did here. You can ask what genre or story you like. I think I have read/watch enough to do rec every month.

October is me and my blog’s birth month. Hopefully it’s going to be an interesting month.

So how about you? What’s new with you? Anything fabulous you would like to share? Was it awesome? Tell me about it!

Love the cover for The Fall-so creepy :)

  2. Leigh says:

Oh man this month was a sucky reading month for me too because I barely read anything. College is seriously a pain …well.. 2 of my classes are (computer science & precalc) and my goal is just to pass that class lol because it’s so hard to get an A especially if you’re professor can’t teach lol. I also got an ARC of the arcs you got except they’re ebooks. :) Happy reading!

  3. I fell way behind in reading this month, too. Who knew school could do that to a person? Good luck with next month! Not getting sidetracked is definitely a hard task.

  4. I’m curious to see what you are going to think about The fall & Exquisite captive. I wasn’t a fan of the romance in EC. I also got The perilous sea, I should get a copy from The burning sky. Good excuse to buy another book, haha.

I loved Griffin’s Maque of the Red Death, so I have high hopes with The Fall. I let my sister read my copy of Exquisite Captive and she was underwhelmed.

I liked Burning Sky! Hope you’ll like, too. <3

  5. Shannelle says:

I don’t know, I think not reading books and having a pretty new design is worth it . . .

    • Mitchii G. says:

LOL, sometimes design inspiration comes absolutely nowhere and if it does, I’m itching to start the design. So changes are sporadic! :D

  6. TOKYO GHOOOOOOUULL. *starts crying again* I really don’t think I’ll be the same emotionally again after this. Ishida Sui had better announce a sequel during the Young Jump event! (Also, don’t know if I’m the only one who noticed this, but the studio who produced TG’s anime has the same name as those group of clowns in the manga. O_O Ugh, those assholes…)

    Ahem.

Don’t worry, the book slump isn’t going that well for me either. I basically spent the last two days binge reading Ao Haru Ride until the latest chapter (after binge-watching all the anime episodes) and finishing the last few chapters of Attack on Titan: No Regrets. Now I’ve started Berserk. And the YA books I’ve read? Only four, and they were re-reads, not ARCs that I should really be getting to. T_T But I wish you luck with your slump! Hoping that those juicy ARCs will keep you motivated!

I need to watch Gekkan Shoujo! Lesley’s been raving about it, but with school and homework I haven’t had much time. But I’ve started watching Haikyuu!!, and I’m really loving it so far. Who knew I could be such a fan of anime volleyball despite not liking sports much in real life? xD Barakamon never really caught my attention, but if you enjoyed it, then I think I will too. :)

And prepare for fangirl mode again but: I LOVE KYAA’S NEW DESIGN. SO MUCH. Especially the navigation bar! I love monochromatic and minimalistic layouts tooooo. <3 You need to teach me some of your skills sometime, sensei. And I can't wait to see how Just Peach looks like. *excited*

Personally, I'd love to see more anime/manga recs here. I read your other blog, Kyaa, pretty regularly, but I'd love to see more anime/manga posts here all the same, where I can leave comments, too! :D

Happy early blogoversary + birthdayyy! What dates are they, exactly?

    • Mitchii G. says:

Total coincidence! But I think Sui really did ask the animation studio to make it 12 episodes. He’s a cunning man, he plans things ahead! :D

Ugh, book slump, don’t remind me! I’m so guilty of not reading a book. But what can I do the manga I read are far more interesting (not as awesome as TG but great nonetheless). Go girl, I’m so proud of you!

WATCH & READ GEKKAN!!!! Meg, it’s so funny and you will also pick up some tidbits on how they draw manga! It’s really fun, always leave me laughing pretty hard! Haikyuu is my favorite sports manga right now. Like I’m massively in love with it (I’m even buying the Japanese volumes cos no licensed will be available in the future! D: ) I don’t like volleyball as well, but I love the energetic team of Karasuno and so many characters to love!!!! And Barakamon, is slice of life series, the theme is simple yet funny and at times even profound! Love, love it!

The design was a spur of the moment, I was cleaning the CSS and realized, hmm, I didn’t like it so I changed the entire design. Sensei? LOL if there’s something you want to know, I’m happy to help you out! Although I don’t think I’m good enough to teach (I’m crappy coder) :P But I’ll try my best!

I think, I’ll be doing it as well. I might turn some bookworm into an otaku!
