It’s not perfect but I love it!

It’s not perfect but I love it!

Reading is always subjective. And interpretation and consumption of these stories vary from person to person! And that’s great! This makes stories differently and storytellers try their hardest to give us something unique and entertaining all the time, all along catering to our various tastes. So even though some people may not like what we do; and sometimes they even nitpick parts of the stories we love, we can help but still love it! Yes, my favorites are not perfect,—

    Just a one hit wanderer??!!

    Just a one hit wanderer??!!

Can you call someone your favorite author if you only liked/loved one of this person’s work? Have you experienced loving a piece of literature so much and in the process fell for the author because of it? And you look forward reading more work from this person. But the second time was a flop to you. So were the third try…and the fourth? And you feel like the fifth ain’t gonna work out for you, too. It looks like you—

    I’m not my favorite characters.

    I’m not my favorite characters.

Yep, I’m not. I’m baffled when people assumed that you are what you read. I know I was very vocal on how Takemoto (of Honey & Clover by Umino Chika) echoed my situation back then. Lost, confused and afraid of the unknown—future. We had similar situation but still we weren’t the same. I’ve read several reviews, which mostly are negative reviews of the series I liked, presumed that because I liked this detestable character, I am or or inclined to—

    Once bitten, twice shy!

    Once bitten, twice shy!

You probably heard of the idiom, “once bitten, twice shy.” Yep, that’s the good ‘ol me when it comes to some books or any titles in general by the same author that badly burnt me/disappointed me.  Even if this author’s new work is revel by other people—many people, I’m still severely reluctant to try; because the disappointment I endured the last time was too heavy to bear once again. So gamble I will not do. Let me tell you good—

    Not so happily ever after…

    Not so happily ever after…

I know that ‘unrequited love’ plotline is not exactly new. But most people do read to escape, and by escape they are inclined to choose a happy sort of feeling in stories rather than a hard slap in the face realistic approach (as such this romantic plot angle implies). At least to me, I gravitate more on series that I knew is fun or happy rather than one that will make me sad. I do occasionally seek reads like these—

I often suffer from second guy syndrome!

I often suffer from second guy syndrome!

Let’s start this post with I love love triangles to bits! Yes, yes, I know I’m being weird again and you probably now questioning my sanity as to why I love frustrating myself by getting into this kinda of love spectacle! Well I love drama and I already tried asking myself as to what I have gotten into again! But I’m the proverbial moth to a flame! I sometimes burned, but sometimes not. But often times…yeah.  In love triangle sometimes—

    Boring Lives, Interesting Stories?

    Boring Lives, Interesting Stories?

Not sure where I read this (I ninja mode on several forums to pass time, too) but it’s very profound idea of literary consumption that it lingered on me for a while! The gist of the person point was people are gravitating to complex stories because of their mundane lives! I think what it mean is to compensate the lack of big events happening on their everyday lives that they resort on literature as catharsis (which admittedly is my reason—

    When your OTP becomes canon!

    When your OTP becomes canon!

You know me, I never hid my persona as a hard-core shipper! And being one makes me all too protective of my ships, but that said I still set boundaries. But I still can’t help being a passionate shipper. I confessed how sometimes shipping & my OTPs clouded my judgment and take a huge part of my enjoyment over the stories I read and watch. And while I don’t participate on shipping war aggressively, in my little own secluded fangirl—

    I’m a Spoiler Freak & there’s nothing I can do about it!

    I’m a Spoiler Freak & there’s nothing I can do about it!

I love reading spoilers before I read the new chapter, especially for Tokyo Ghoul:re. It was never once deter me from completely enjoying the chapters. Sometimes you came across tidbits from your favorite series that still haven’t consumed by others yet. Often than not this unwanted information elicit raged from fans who don’t like to know it beforehand. I’m not one of those people. If you ever spoiled me I’m not gonna get mad. I’m not even gonna reprimand you.—
